State school closures

The safety of students, teachers and community members is the department's highest priority. If you have any concerns about access to a school, contact the principal or your relevant regional officeExternal link.

Independent and Catholic school closures

Contact your service directly to get reliable, up-to-date information regarding the closure of a specific education and care service.

You can visit the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) Service and temporary closure information webpageExternal link for up-to-date information about closed ECEC services in Queensland (and nationally) that are approved under the Education and Care Services National Law or Education and Care Services Act 2013 (Queensland).

Approved providers make the decision to close and re-open their education and care service/s and are required to notify the department within 24 hours of the service closing.
